The Story of ChameleonThe partners met at Mayacamas Vineyards in Napa, CA where they were employed concurrently and where the concept of Chameleon first took form in 1995. Initial efforts were focused on "Cal-Italia" type wines such as Sangiovese and Barbera, but the line was expanded to include a proprietary red as well as Syrah, Zinfandel, and Merlot. Fruit was and continues to be sourced from meticulously selected vineyards both in and outside of the Napa Valley, with an emphasis on sound vineyard practices - especially in regard to canopy management and cropping levels.
